Hybrid bicycle
A hybrid bicycle is a compromise between a road bicycle and a mountain bicycle.
Most hybrids have wide tires similar to those on mountain bikes, but they are less knobby, providing a better ride on urban streets. Although there are exceptions, generally a hybrid will not have the full shock absorber systems common on mountain bikes.
Handlebars are neither downturned like a road bicycle nor flat like a mountain bicycle. Rather, they have a slight upturn, providing for a more upright seating position.
